Hi,
To the previous part of the series:
Regional Rail Express - 54: Lake Balaton I/Istria IV (50 p.)
June 30 2019
We return to Balatonkenese station, the loess bluff of Soós-hegy hill in the background.
A long-distance regional express meeting: Gy 16906 "Tekergő" from Tapolca to Záhony at the Ukrainian border was crossing 43 minutes delayed Gy 16907 "Tekergő" Záhony - Tapolca hauled by 418 149 (M41 2149) with original Pielstick prime mover.
On video:
June 29 2019
We had climbed Soós-hegy a second time the previous evening. S 19751 "Katica" Balatonfüred - Budapest-Déli passed by punctually at 7:42 p.m.
Gy 1971 "Tekergő" Tapolca - Budapest curved around the reed belt near the well-known "Balaton sea wall"-spot punctually at 8:09 p.m.
Hauled by M41 2143 in heritage livery.
S 19758 "Katica" Budapest - Balatonfüred was met at the station.
June 30 2018
S 19707 "Kék Hullám" Tapolca - Budapest approached along the reeds in the morning.
On the second day of the weekend stay - June 30 2019 - our tedious bicycles at least made it to Balatonalmádi. On the way, we stopped at the now overgrown "sea wall"-spot for S 19707 - this time pulled by Pielstick.
You can look up what was possible here even a few years prior (in German, please use autotranslate):
Along Lake Balaton 2/2 (50 p.)

June 30 2019
We had reached the windswept pier of Balatonalmádi by bike.
To my delight, M41 2143 hauling S 19702 "Kék Hullám" Budapest - Tapolca approached the last remains of historic infrastructure on the eastern part of the line.
We have reached the concrete block of Balatonfüred station on July 1 2018.
By M62 on July 14 2019.
July 1 2018
I got off at Örvényes in the morning. S 19707 "Kék Hullám" Tapolca - Budapest departed at 8:45 a.m.
Even the remotorized M41s revert to diesel monsters after years of service.
I explored the beach.
2 1/2 hours delayed Gy 1247 "Istria" (Koper/Rijeka -) Ljubljana - Budapest-Keleti finally appeared at nine o'clock - when it already was supposed to have arrived at its destination.
S 19700 "Kék Hullám" towards Tapolca taking me westwards at 9:12 a.m.
July 11 2015
Previously, I had only known Örvényes from the panoramic spot - see the linked older report above for more variations.
NOHAB-GM M61 017 approached Balatonszepezd hauling a special train.
July 1 2018
S 19607 "Kék Hullám" Szombathely - Budapest arrived on time.

As did M62 089 one year later at Révfülöp.
The same situation from the outside in the morning, showing already known S 19707 "Kék Hullám".
Sz 19747 Tapolca - Balatonfüred hauled by M40 224 for the "retro"-weekend featuring classic and museum diesel engines on regular and special trains.
Simultaneous departure with S 19700 "Kék Hullám". The soundtrack to these scenes:
S 19607 "Kék Hullám" Szombathely - Budapest.
M61 001 pulled Gy 1972 "Tekergő" consisting of the newly painted retro express cars towards Tapolca taking me to Badacsonytomaj.

Pálkövei beach is being passed on the way.
More from around Badacsony mountain visible in the distance next time!
