I am an owner of a commercial building in Springfield, MA that abuts the Amtrak lines near Union Station. There is a disused rail spur that used to service the building via a long loading platform with space for ten rail cars. We own the loading platform, but probably not the spur. It is possible that we have a right to use the spur or might be able to lease it or borrow it. If so, we might be willing to offer (free) parking for up to ten rail cars--historical/restored cars that need a home. In a perfect world, our future tenants would have access to one of the cars for use as a lounge or 'common room'. We would not pay to get the train cars onto the spur.
I don't know who owns the rail line. Amtrak is pretty territorial if they are the owner. Nonetheless, if anyone has any suggestions regarding any of this, lmk. Thanks.
