I had a vacation from work last week, and spent 7 of 9 total days off out chasing trains. I managed to see all kinds of stuff, shooting nearly 60 trains in the process. I'll post the ones I think are interesting here, and have a link for the rest:
Monday, I chased a lease unit(a widecab) on Q226 north on CSX's LCL Subdivision:

I also managed to get another leaser leading a southbound train:

Three northbounds met the southbound Q505 in the above photo at Glencoe, and things got a bit tight as the northbounds lined up:
Tuesday, a friend and I set out in search of the Southern heritage unit, which was on NS in Louisville and due to depart west. It never left during the day, but I saw a couple other trains that day.

Wednesday, I headed east to NS's CNO&TP to try and catch a heritage unit and a pair of CN units on train 179:

NS 179, Moreland,KY 3/19/2014 by bluegrassrailfan, on Flickr

I didn't get the greatest shot of the NYC heritage unit, but I've shot it twice before, so no biggie. I heard of a southbound on CSX's CC Sub with an IC&E leader, but it never made it to me. I settled for a northbound with CN, IC&E and CP power. Not a bad "consolation" prize!
Thursday, I met back up with a few friends and chased trains on NS's CNO&TP again.

I don't normally do backlit shots, but I really liked this one.

The old warbonnet was a nice end to the day!
Friday, we returned to the CNO&TP yet again.

While it's been a fun 7 days (getting home at 10pm and leaving at 7am the next day most the time), I guess I have to get back to reality. There'll be more trains soon though! The rest of my photos from this week are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/bluegrassrailfan/
