As stated I was just hired and begin training Monday, I was just a little curious for those who are part of the train crew, how does the schedule work. I understand I'm on call 24/7, but do I only go in when I'm called or is there an actual schedule to follow then also go when called? Just a little confused about it, thanks for any help, I'm excited to begin this journey!

i went through 18 weeks of training first was GCOR for a week or two cant remember then we did some other stuff relating to rules and went out in the field laced upsome air hoses and changed some knuckles light weight stuff not rocket science after we passed the first class (switchman and brakeman) we went on our conductor trips worked some locals that were on schedules then after that we got on a pool board and was on call no schedule then went to some conductor classes then out to some yard work then rco Qualifying it was a while back so i may have it a little mixed but thats the gist of it i think low senority new hires basicly your working the xtra board ...im trying to get back after being furloughed for a while and quitting so it may be different now but thats what i remember hope it hels a bit good luck
