Convenient connections to Chicago/St. Louis/Kansas City and points west and south put the Illinois city back on the Amtrak map
CHICAGO – An Amtrak Thruway Bus Service now provides daily Illinois roundtrips between Decatur and Springfield or Champaign, making connections at Springfield for Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City and points west and at Champaign for Carbondale, Memphis and New Orleans.

“More than a million Amtrak customers every year begin or end their travels on an Amtrak Thruway bus or van,” said Paul Vilter, the Amtrak Assistant Vice President for these services. “With our state partners, these services are an important part of our network that together give us more than 1,000 destinations nationwide served either by Amtrak train or by Amtrak Thruway services.”

A video shows how easy it is to Get Carried AwaySM on the combination of Amtrak services.
