Railroadforums.com is a free online
Railroad Discussion Forum and
Railroad Photo Gallery for railroaders, railfans, model railroaders and anyone else who is interested in railroads. We cover a wide variety of topics, including freight trains, passenger and commuter railroads, rail news and information, tourist railroads, railway museums and railroad history.
Just so you know, you can show your photos directly from Flickr by posting the bbc code found under the "Share this photo" icon. I usually choose the "large" size with 1024 for the long size of the picture. Just right click the code to copy it, then paste it in to your message in the RR forum. That way folks can also see your exif info (if you have that enabled) if they are interested, as well as viewing them full size. I'm working on my Yosemite pics this morning, or I would have chosen a train pic for the example ;-)

Today's catches. I wanted to get more but missed most of the traffic since I had a ton of yard work to do in the morning. I was hoping to get an ACe and a CREX Gevo since I got my BNSF H3 Gevo and my BN Grinstein Green today. Oh well, next time.

I have been seeing a lot of Gevos on the coal trains. As much as I like my grinstein greens it's nice to see no H2 engines on these coal trains which always seem to accompany the grinstein greens. Just do not like that color scheme. Would be cool to get some ACes up front or in the rear instead of buried in the back of the leading units.

Thanks for the Video Bill!
Good catch on the eagle. Some bird watcher friends of mine have said there are two nests in the area.
I found out that the light power moves are training runs for Positive Train Control, or
PTC.
http://www.bnsf.com/media/video/?fi...v&title=Positive Train Control%23%23subtabs-1
I would agree that there are nests nearby. I'm fairly certain it was a pair in the area as this one was north of us and another to our south brining in fish.

I went down on Wednesday to try and locate MRL SD70ACe #4408 (brand new unit) that was to be attached with a BNSF Gevo H3 to bring BNSF and MRL business cars up to Vancouver, BC today. I could not locate the MRL engine to save my life.
Very sad. Apparently it was somewhere getting serviced but I looked all over Balmer Yard and couldn't find it.
So I went down to the south end of Balmer Yard near the grain terminals and found these.

I saw the BNSF 9175 & 5735 come through in Cheney, Washington on June 17th.. BNSF must have swapped power somewhere between Cheney & Everett. It was on that GATX coke train too!!!

I love those SD70ACe units as they look very much like the old ALCO Century series diesels from the 60's.
As much as the engineers complain about how they run I do like the look of them too.
