Hello, I am trying to find more information on my company's ALCO S1 "slug". We bought it 7 years ago from James river Coal in Kentucky, which paint scheme it still wears. I'm having a hard time finding any history on it before that. I've heard its ex B&O, but I've also heard its ex Lehigh and New England. Supposedly it was sent to GE in the 70s for a reman, where the cab was taken off in replacement for a control booth at both ends. I am unable to find any relevant numbers on the frame or find a plate. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it!

There SHOULD be a serial number on the frame. If you can find it, that will help a lot. Without it, we're all going to be guessing.
