Hello out there!
I am considering purchasing a house near some tracks. It is a very rural area on an acre and the side track is 215 feet away and the main track is 3 football fields away. Is there anyway online to check the traffic on either track?
Thanks in advance!

Without being "that creepy internet guy", if we had the address of the house, we could search the line, and see how busy it is. We could probably do the same if we had the address of the business that's on the siding.

Hi Terry and thanks for the reply. Its right down the road from the only post office in Deeth Nevada...population 15! Any info you can come up with on the main line would be greatly appreciated.
Again, Thanks

Old WP and SP lines through NV. Now UP?

Same lines through Wells and Elko. Maybe someone there could tell you.

I just looked it up, and that is one of UP's main transcontinental routes. If you don't think a train rumbling by every twenty minutes is for you, it may be worth reconsidering your purchase. You can spend some time in Elko, which is nearby, and watch how much traffic goes by. Don't just go on a Sunday afternoon, but go several times during the week, at varying times. Ask some of the people that work at the businesses in Elko, and see what they say.

Hi Terry,
I just spoke to someone at the post office right down the street and they said it isn't bad... a train about every 3 or 4 hours which is doable.
Again, Thanks!
