Hey guys I was considering railfanning La Plata Missouri over spring break and was wondering if anyone had tips about good places to fan the area. Also, is it worth going there and how many trains a day through La Plata? Thanks.

Never been there, but have heard/read some good things about it. It's on the SF (BNSF) Transcon so traffic should be good. There's a viewing platform sponsored by a local hotel somewhere in that area. It's on my list of places to visit.

If you find a good location at La Plata for viewing trains, be sure to start a thread in the Midwest/Missouri section of the Railfan Hot Spots forum.
