On May 10, 1869 the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific connected some tracks together at Promontory Utah to form the transcontinental railroad. Hurray!! Oh yes it is also Mothers Day. There the ones that said "Now no fighting boys and don't drink too much" when the after spike driving party started.
