I spent a short holiday in England after Christmas, I flew to and from Gatwick on December 26 and 31. December 27 I went to Bristol and Bath, then attended the Winter Steam Gala on the West Somerset Railway heritage line December 28-29. December 30 was spent as a cozy day on the Bluebell Railway south of London.
Steam engines encountered:
WSR:
- GWR 4936 "Kinlet Hall" (Swindon / 1929)
- GWR 6960 "Raveningham Hall" (Swindon / 1944) (Modified Hall class)
- GWR Large Prairie 4160 (Swindon / 1948) (last service before overhaul)
- GWR 7828 "Norton Manor" (Swindon / 1950)
Bluebell:
- BR 5MT 73082 "Camelot" (Derby / 1955) (returned to service end of October 2015)
- SECR H 0-4-4 263 (Ashford / 1905)
