On a cold and windy April 13, we return to Durango Colorado for another look at 476 leading the Cascade Canyon train. After visiting the Durango station, we go to the Animas River bridge in the middle of town and zoom in on it crossing the river. This is a great place to shoot as it begins it’s journey up the Animas Valley.
There are always other photographers along the route. Today we met Dan from Washington state!
I’ve never shot at the Trimble Crossing before, but it has a nice set up for early morning light.
Hermosa is one of my favorite settings with the old water tower and we catch it passing a line of hopper cars.
Last time we were here was my first time visiting Rockwood. This is a great spot to shoot and away from the highway. It’s also the last accessible spot before the train winds it’s way through the Animas Canyon.
