Over the Easter Weekend we stayed for three nights in the old city centre of Regensburg with some excursions - the longest being a day trip to Plzeň in Czechia. Class 218 diesels take over the medium distance trains of RE 2 line Munich - Hof on the Regensburg - Schwandorf - Hof section every two hours. Every other hour, ALEX operates RE/EuroCity trains Prague - Munich with Eurorunner diesels. During my stay in Munich a month prior, I visited the Munich - Freising - Regensburg line with some friends.
