This was found on the farm of a retired railroad guy. He was a track foreman, and later a signal maintainer. There were countless railroad items on his farm. My father is a retired railroad signalman as well, and he has no idea what it is. It says “Fire Use Only 1619” on the sides and front. Made out of 1/4” steel. Very solid and secure looking. It has no holes in it for electric lines, etc…

These were used to store fire fighting equipment out of the weather. Hoses on wheeled reels, buckets of sand, fire extinguishers, etc. They were made of steel so they wouldn't burn. They were usually painted red.
