Hi all I'm trying to find out how the dispatch procedures work on the MBTA commuter rail in Boston & Amtrak regional services out of Boston on the NEC to Providence & Stoughton, I recently bought the new Boston to Providence route for TSW & I'm trying to recreate realistic services.
What I'm trying to find out is who closes the doors, is it the conductor or driver & also how does the driver know when it's safe to depart, is there a buzzer or bell because my local company Northern rail the guards work the doors & when it's safe to depart the guard uses a buzzer to give the driver the all clear & the driver has to acknowledge the guard by buzzing back, but in the south of England most companies the driver looks after the doors & uses in cab cctv &/or platform mirrors to monitor the doors.
