A LOT Of CSX Activity At MP 309 & 315 On The Rochester Subdivision

Railroadforums.com is a free online Railroad Discussion Forum and Railroad Photo Gallery for railroaders, railfans, model railroaders and anyone else who is interested in railroads. We cover a wide variety of topics, including freight trains, passenger and commuter railroads, rail news and information, tourist railroads, railway museums and railroad history.

Really a pretty good day for rail fan. There were a few others as well interestingly enough. An interesting side note is BECAUSE they sail by at 45 plus MPH the video segments for each train is short vs. the DeWitt yard where they are moving slow....SO in 20 Minutes got like 6 good sized freight trains. A mix of Intermodals & Manifests With A "Bonus"" Amtrak & Auto Carrier Mixed in.

Rail Fan's are an interesting lot I'm discovering. I have a fellow on my Facebook group who will INSIST I am at MP 308 on the area around that Pump road crossing. I have sprinkled in the video actual video looking right AT the 309 mile marker. BUT since the crossing is 100ft east, it's 308. Maybe 308.9?? But not 309 as technically we missed the accuracy part by 50ft :) I'm learning as I'm more a logger/farmer than a rail road guy, just really do enjoy watching these things on the days I can't be in the woods and want time away from the Saw shop.
