Once a busy place, now this large station is just a building with a few computers inside. Even as I clicked this picture, not 1 CPR employee was on the ground. With only 15-20 freight trains a day, and the bidaily Lake Superior RDC set it is not hard to figure out why everything has been moved...
This is the station name plate of an abandoned station in central Taiwan, named Sheng-Hsin. It used to be the peak of Taiwan's railroad. The tracks have been changed to a more flat route for more efficient transportation. But this station has since become a tourist attraction.
This wood structured station building was originally built before the end of WWII. It was destroyed in an earthquake in 1999.
The government of Taiwan rebuilt the station to its original specifications to show people's power to overcome any obstacles thrown their way.

No trainwatching allowed on this day. This was as close as I get to the platform with my camera.
No longer used for its intended purpose, the ticket counter at Los Angeles Union Station sits quiet and majestic. The room is now used for special events, fund raisers and as a movie set.
