About the locomotive:
When World War 2 ended in May 1945 there were lots of German planes, cars and other kind of stuff left behind by the German Wermacht. Among these were 74 German locomotives of BR52. These were formally taken over by NSB in 1950.

We went to the enginehouse at ndalsnes and found the locomotive being made ready for the journey up the valley with the tourist train. The locomotive is a type 63a 2770 (ex german BR 52.2770). July 2003, Norway.
And off they went up the valley. They gathered momentum to get up the valley towards Verma station. They cross Kylling bridge and go down the valley in order to gain more heigth before they turn up the valley again. This was a trip I did in july together with Per Roar Johansen.
We left ndalsnes early on sunday to photograph the tourist train that was going up Romsdalen to Bjorli and back again. We found a bridge and started to wait for it. We didn't have to wait for long.
This is one of my favorite places. I knew this one from an earlier visit.
PS, they got really good wild strawberries here.
