January 14th, 2004 was forcasted by NWS to have 4 to 6 inches of snow fall in the Port Huron area. Upon completion of the storm, some areas (including my home a mile from this location in photo) had 12 inches on the ground.

Starting the milk run and gas run at sunrise, I decided to head to the yard and see if the sun and fog would make for a quick shot. Its a good thing that I was hungry, or I would have stayed a while and waited for the inbound train some 12 miles out.

It's a wonderful day with bright sun and a colorful Grand Trunk Western locomotive. Welded rail is being pulled from the racks. The rail being pulled sounded like the blasters in Star Wars.

While passing through Trout lake, MI these two units sat shutdown waiting for a crew. It was the only sunny Day of the trip so I felt happy to get one sun lite pics in.
