This fine example of a lift trestle is now a walking bridge over the Arkansas River. This is the former Rock Island Line's trestle that crossed the river to access the depot just out of the picture to the right.
The crew on the Little Giant crane gives us a thumbsup as they clear the mainline for traffic to startup again while track work took place on Stevens Pass in 2007. They are about to head into the Alpine Cut to my back left.

MP 78-82 on the Heron Bay sub is my favorite location. A very big curved trestle at aout 250ft high crossing a dangerous river and then up a giant hill with lots of curves and rock cuts. CP #104 the container/stack train begins to climb the hill in the fall of 2003.
