DD5136 leads freight at Ikutahara in Sekihoku line. The DMU is Kiha22239, a local train bound for Kitami.
Nowadays, model DD51 is still active in freight train operated by JR Freight and Kiha22 was already retired.

This container is JNR S90, manufactured for container train in 1972. S90 is a trial model of caboose and equipped double shock absorbers with coil-spring and oil-spring for the conductor.

This is a legacy round house of Himeji-daiichi engine house. C5795 (2-C-1, Pacific) operated passengers and freights in JNR (Japan National Railways) Bantan line.

This EMU is a typical "Kokuden", JNR series 73. Kokuden means EMU of JNR commuters. Series 73 was majority in Japan in 1960's thru earlier 1970's.
The steam engine car Kiha6401 (=Hoji6005) manufactured by Kisha co.ltd. in 1911. Currently, MEIJI village museum (Inuyama city, Aichi pref.) preserves Kiha6401 for exhibition.
Nade6141 is EMU, manufactured in 1913 and revived by JNR Oi factory in 1987. The model nade6110 was operated in JNR yamanote line.

The turntable is very busy and crowded. Itozaki engine house had many engines and operates many trains in 1970.

The roundhouse is a large class at Itozaki. In 1969, there were 22 steam locomotives (D51x7, C62x8, C59x3, C50x4) at Itozaki engine house.
In 1970, JNR had 2258 steam locomotives and many roundhouses. But until 1976, all steam locomotives retired and almost roundhouses were pulled down.
JNR B20 is tiny little switcher for engine house. Currently B20 retired and preserved at Umekoji steam locomotive museum.
