Not sure what my fellow railfan is photographing from that close up. Interestingly this unit only worked for WP before retirement to museum in 1983.

As well I have an alternate version of this scene with another railfan blocking my view!
On March 16, I rode the #713. She was used as a "helper" engine while they ran steam tests on the SP2472. We went out with the 2472, the 713 and a caboose. The 713 would pull the 2472 for several miles, stop, and the 2472 would fire up and chug forward.
