Where did this come from?

Wqtching trains at West Colton yard when all of a sudden thsi Amtrak comes around the corner. First time I'd ever seen Amtrak go thru the yard.
The logical assumption since it came of Cajon is that it was the Southwest Chief, apparently detouring on the UP for some reason. Perhaps there was a problem on the BNSF San Berdnardino sub.

He is on the Pepper Avenue bridge at West Colton, at the division point of the UP Yuma and UP Alhambra Subdivisions.

This is not the Southwest Chief, this is the Sunset Limited.

Since this is the Sunset, what is it doing on that curve? The Sunset normally comes straight through from the east.
