W&I bridge 56

Washington & Idaho southbound freight crosses bridge 56 over Palouse River. This is a 100 foot deck plate girder span with an 8 span timber pile aproach. Photo taken March 5, 2008.
That's quite a unique structure -- I've never seen a combined truss/girder beam. Oh, and nice catch of the Black Widow!

It looks like it might have been a turntable bridge at one point. Very nice photo BTW.
