I'm really not sure where this photo was taken, It was part of my fathers collection.George L. Judd who was an engineer for the Southern Pacific.
I'm trying to figure out what that is...

Hard to make it out, is the original clearer? Looks like it might be a 4-8-8-4???
 
Bob, it's a 4-8-8-2 Cab Forward with the cab end being in the distance. The two wheels at far right at the the first 2 of 3 on the leading truck of the tender.
