I doubt that any rr would agree that there's something called a "lucky derailment" but this one deserves such title. The derailed truck stopped just short of the switch. It could have been a real mess because cars pile up at switches; even at low speed.
Good question. The truck of the derailing car had left the rails about 100ft prior to the frog. The frog was intact and appeared to be undamaged. It sure did a good job of "plowing" the ballast, but tie damage was minimal because this track had been resurfaced and re-tied.
 
I can't recall as both ends of the two cuts of cars were void of power.
