I need help identifying this locomotive. I traded slides for a while, and acquired this one, but don't know the locomotive model.

The slide is labeled: SWEPCO (Southwestern Electric Power Co.) GE "Super 88", Alliance, NE, 051484, one of 8 made - see p.33 in X2200S #68.

I do not have access to that issue of Extra 2200 South. Judging by the buckets on the stacks, the locomotive is obviously out of service. If you have any clues, please leave a comment. Thanks.

From X2200S #68, this is a GE "super 88", one of 8 built, 4 went to Cuba. Called Super 88 because it supposedly had twice the power of a 44t, but weighed 80-82 tons, nominally. Powered by Cummins VT12 prime movers.
SWEPCO unit origionally Winifrede RR #12 (7/57). Sold to Diamond Shamrock as#22, 1969, to SWEPCO in 1978

I believe the Red River Valley Historical Society has one of these units; it is stored at the old Central Station depot in Shreveport, LA.
