Rocky Mountain Autumn California Zephyr Style

Brilliant golden aspens late in season - October 2008 - blessed the mountains around Tolland, Colorado. Amtrak P42DC 169-17 led 9-car Superliner equipped California Zephyr, train 5, over Union Pacific (ex-Denver & Rio Grande Western RR) rails towards Moffat Tunnel. High winds usually strip the trees by late September in this locale. Warm Indian summer provided this unique opportunity.
