QJ Special

Iowa Interstate ran a special tonnage train to set a record for the most tonnage in the 21st Century with two Chinese QJ locomotives, October 18, 2008.

Here 6988 and 7081 take on some water at Walcott, IA before heading down into the Mississippi River valley in the Quad Cities to run excursions. The proceeds from the excursions went to the Salvation Army's Red Kettle fund to help with those who were affected by the "Floods of 2008" in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
