PV Pacific Sands at San Diego

Pacific Sands was delivered to the Union Pacific Railroad Company in April of 1950, and built by the Budd Car Company for Pullman as a 10/6 sleeper. In the 1960's when Pullman was dissolved, control of the car was taken over by Union Pacific. Amtrak took over the car from U.P. during the 1970's and 80's and the car ran for approximately 25 years before is was sold to a private owner in, or around 1996. Currently it operates out of Los Angeles California under the name of "Pullman Adventures" as a charter.
