Prescient Irv

Back in the late '50's and early '60's Athearn produced HO scale EMD F-7's in the New Haven McGinnis paint scheme. We laughed, since the New Haven never owned any F-7's, but did have 60 FL-9's which are markedly differant than an F-7. Maybe Irv figured that was close enough.
Fast forward 30 years and, sure enough, here's one of Irv's "New Haven" F-7's in the flesh, leading ConnDOT Shore Line East commuter train 3634 eastward ahead of the setting sun in Guilford, CT. on Jan. 20, 1992. The 6691 was one of two former PAT, ex WAG, nee SP F-7's CDOT acquired for their commuter service on Amtrak's ex New Haven RR "Shore Line".
