Back in winter time 2000, I chased a westbound Rail Transport Museum special being hauled by 4306 and 4201.
The NSWGR adopted a plethora of diesel locomotive shapes and designs. But, being a government railway, the budget often constrained the numbers of locomotives built in each class. Just six of the 43 class GE/Alco cab units were built in 1956. And conincidentally, just six of the 42 class AC16C were built.
Fortunately, the RTM possesses an example of both.
The 43 class does sound great with the 244 Alco donk.

Aussie Alco.
