Moonlit Virginia

The daily westbound freight on the ex-C&O James River line, Q303, crosses the line's namesake at Lisle underneath cloud-diffused moonlight.
Gotta like this one! I assume that the train stopped at a siding on the other side of the bridge - or is this a cross taking place? What was the approximate exposure?

I think I'd summarise this as audacious - which is a darn fine thing!

Congrats Brian. The Staff felt this shot was worthy of making it to The Editor's Choice Gallery! I've moved it over for you.

Thanks for the comments. Alan, it's just one train passing through the scene at about 40mph. The exposure was three minutes long at ISO 400 with the lens opened up to f4.

Simply great. This photo makes me think of picking a film camera again.
