Languid summer afternoon

Its a hot and languid afternoon at Tamrookum crossing loop. Normally this siding sees only the constant procession of trains running between Brisbane and points south but, unusually, today it is also fulfilling its function as the station for the small town of Beaudesert.

In this scene a north bound container train has been put away in the siding, while the south bound Brisbane Limited is about to make a rare stop to pick up some passengers. The signaller is preparing to exchange the staff while those two girls are a picture of studied indifference.
