In DPU Mode

Iowa Interstate's new ES44AC #505 is in DPU mode and pushes the rear of a long PE-CR(Peoria-Cedar Rapids) coal train on the CRANDIC's Amana Line.

The head-end power this day was also two other GEVO's--#500, #503.

The scheme's colors are in honor of the Iowa Hawkeyes(Gold/Black) with the Rock Island herald as their logo. Iowa Interstate runs on the former Rock Island RR between Blue Island, IL to Council Bluffs, IA.

I like the colors of the unit.

Amazing the amount of traffic STILL running on those old "unneeded and unwanted" Rock Island lines. Great shot!
