Heading to the Yard

Mississippi Central GP16 #1605 has just dropped it's train - in from Oxford, MS & heads to the yard. This is one of two GP16's that came from the CSX(fromer SCL units).

Nice to see the engineer waving. I think it's odd how some RR's name their rebuild GP9's, GP9u's or GP9RM's or GP10's, and now GP16's? That's crazy!
 
Russian, these were known as 'Uceta (you-see-ta) GP16's'. All were refurbished by SCL/SBD at Tampa's Uceta shops back in the early 80's. Unfortunately, Uceta only repairs cars today.
