This GP40M-2 was formerly SP 7118. It has 3000 HP and weighs 271,000 lbs. A total of 65 SP/SSW units went to UP at the merger. These units were re-built in 1990 to the "M" specifications. The 1488 serves as a switcher in the San Francisco Penninsula area and is working out of the UP yard right now. Nice to see that the SP road name
