Garbage & Grit

The Pier 96 lead takes the South City Switcher through a place I like to call Junkyard Alley. Here, the tracks run right through a gritty industrial complex lined with scrap yards. The tracks are so buried in mud and grime you'd hardly think trans ever ran here, but this is almost a daily occurrence. After a rainstorm the previous day, the clear sky juxtaposed with the eclectic junk heap and the reflective puddles made for a very interesting scene. The train is shown on the return trip with three loads of tallow from Darling International.
