Endless Trestle

This particular trestle, about 2 miles west of Deer Trail, CO, is pretty long to start with, but in the view of a 17mm lens it almost seems to go on forever! The view is of a eastbound UP coal load on the UP Limon Subdivision.

Post-processing was pretty basic with nothing really creative. Converted from a .raw file to a .tif using Raw Therapee. Photoshop 7 was used to adjust levels for brightness and contrast, a boost in color saturation, unsharp mask in lighten and darken layers, and finally shrunk down to web size and saved as a .jpg.

I loved this shot for several reasons. Color, composition (especially the lines of the clouds being in sync with the train), and cleanliness (noise wise, especially after increasing saturation). Well done.
