EMD 1975 DEMONSTRATOR

EMD 1975 DEMONSTRATOR

EMD demonstrator lays over at Harrisburg. Too little, too late to save the CONRAIL electrification that came down several years after this 1975 photo.
does anybody know the eventual outcome of this loco(or its sister unit)? scrapped, derelict, preserved?

Both are 1975 & 1976 belived scraped... however there are conflicting reports.
For those who dont know, these are the 6000HP GM6C and 10000HP GM10B super-electrics that ASEA-EMD fielded in the mid to late 1970's

This unit went back to La Grange, IL and served as a load-test unit for EMD. It was eventually scrapped in the mid-1980's.
