Eastbound Passing Cliffs

An eastbound makes time as it passes Cliffs, in the Columbia River Gorge. http://wikimapia.org/#lat=45.7152293&lon=-120.7172585&z=15&l=0&m=b
Thank you for the comment. One of those spur tracks goes up the hill a bit to the old Goldendale Alumium smelter. It closed down in 2003, due to higher power prices. The spur going to the smelter is just barely visible as a turnout, closer to the mainline switch. The track which continues towards the camera is a short storage spur. A cloudy day, a long lens, and a little haze made for a grainy longer exposure. If you have a good internet connection, click on the link above for a Wiki-Map of the location.

Cliffs,

Very nice photo of an e/b at Cliffs.. I would like to see Cliff when it was a crew change spot on the old SP&S railway..
