Derailed_Engine_Pueblo_Colorado_May_31st

On the sunday the 31st this and a second unit were traveling out of Pueblo colorado pushing a coal train and when it hit this track the rail collapsed. I have more I will put on later

I was mildly surprised to run across this photo of the #9366 in the dirt. This unit has a long sordid history and picked up the moniker "the devil unit" at Hinkle several years ago while I was working there. It was one of the original Blue Mountain DPU units and in 2000 or 2001 it was involved in a derailment at Nampa, Idaho and was moved to Hinkle, Oregon for assessment. We found that the accident damage was too extensive for our little shop so it was prepped for a move to LRC/Talgo in Richland, WA for repairs. During the move to Richland, it was involved in another sideswipe that unfortunately took the life of a conductor at Wallula, WA.
