DBGX 2001

Built in April 1952, this unit has seen many paint schemes and owners.

It started out as an SD7 with the Milwaukee Road numbered 2200. It was the upgraded to an SD10 and renumbered to 559.

Soo Line took over the unit after MILW's collapse in 1987 but keeping the unit numbered the same.

Soo Line sold the unit to the Dakota Minnesota and Eastern later on where it was painted into DME's Blue and Gold Scheme and dubbed "City of Byron"

In 1996 the Indiana Railroad purchased the unit from DME and in 2001 sold it to De Bruce Grain Company.

In 2009, as a 57-year old Vet, she awaits the next Grain Train to come into the De Bruce facility in Plainview, TX for unloading/loading. Hopefully she can hang around for another 50 years before meeting the scrappers torch
Very nice loco! And your framing is great! The wires on the silo's, they look like musical notes right behind the engine. Just beautiful music from the 567!

Nice! Back when I lived in Lubbock several years ago, there was an old, yellow Alco switcher and an old Rock Island SW1 (I believe) in the maroon/yellow scheme. I still drive through Plainview a few times a year. Good to see a pic of this unit.
