Lot's and lot's of fallen things in this one:
The obvious: Fallen white stuff, yeah, that's right, snow... to cool everyone off from this hot hot summer...
Fallen mercury in the thermometer...
Fallen (or falling) sun...
Fallen Flag... That big yellow herald on the nose... The D&H (see my avatar)... Still incorporated on paper, but eccentially, it's CP Rail now...
A Fallen builder... Yep, that there be an Alco... An RS-36 to be exact... The backbone of the D&H for about 30 years... Best damned road switcher ever built...
A fallen locomotive... Yeup, she's razor blades now... Resting in that little smoky spot in the sky, I refer to as Alco heaven...
And most importantly:
A fallen comrad... That glowing red face in the cab of the ol' 5022 is Dick Bennett... This is the fellow that took me under his wing and taught me railroading (and photography)... Everything from the "come along" to the "tip toe"... He was a REAL railroader... Taught me to listen to the power, He'd know if we'd make the hill or not just by a tug of the drawbar, he knew how to squeeze every ounce of energy out of the locomotives. He was a friend, a dear friend...
Here's to you Dick...

Check out the "shiney" spot on the nose... that's ice... Unfortunately, the scan of the slide sure lost the deep colors...
