Train 6 in Glenwood Canyon

I saw that photo, and...WOW

This was taken from a bike path that follows the river between Dotsero and Glenwood Springs. If I remember correctly, this is near Shoshone. This bike path has many great places to take photos of the ex-D&RGW line. When Amtrak is on time, you can catch #5 and #6 within an hour of each other in this part of the canyon.

I saw this are on my recent Calif. Zephyr EB trip. I plan to visit there in the future and get trackside photos.

I could see the bike path and lovely I=70 (it nearly destroyed the canyon's appearance) from my sleeping car window. It looks easy to railfan.

How easy was it for you? Any suggestions on railfanning this area?

Is there enough room to briefly pull off to the side on EB I-70 lane, snap some shots, then drive a little ways forward for another shot?

I couldn't tell how much shoulder room there is on I-70. I couldn't see if there were any signs saying NO STOPPING.
