CN coal oddity

These open hoppers have been showing up on 300 series manifests lately. All are clear patch jobs, ex-CR perhaps?

PS. Some geese swam, others walked on ice. Which ones are smarter?
No trains on the mainline for 5 hours prior, so I started taking notes

These hopper cars do they show up regularly at Saskatoon?

Ex-Westray Coal cars. Some are starting to show the Westray markings through the faded paint which was applied after the Westray disaster in Nova Scotia.

Those cars are on A416/417 a lot and are usually interchanged to CPR in Kamloops, BC for use in the LaFarge cement plant when natural gas prices are high.

Thanks for the link Semaphore7, I thought they looked familiar (I used to live in Nova Scotia).
chaloner2008, I don't recall seeing them through town before, however I've spotted a five-pack on three different trains last week, hence I think its more of a case of them mixing in with the regular cars. Similar to BCOL gondolas that were unheard of initially, now they're mixed in with CN regulars.
