BNSF MOW Worker In Action

This MOW worker is rough grinding the weld. The grinder is mounted to the frame which is mounted on two wheels. The worker slides the frame along the axis of the rail and rocks it backward and forward to grind the weld to conform form roughly to the crown of the rail. The final grinding to achieve a smooth clean weld is done with a hand held wheel and is frequently checked with a straight edge.
