BLS loco at Berne Switzerland.

Taken by me around 1968 at Berne Station, Switzerland. A "BLS" electric loco as then used on passenger trains through the famous Swiss tunnels.

I fell in love with those lovely brown BLS locomotives on my first visit to Switzerland, when one whisked us through the Lotchberg tunnel in our car!
 
Alan, We have done exactly the same as you! We used the Car-Trains for several years on our regular holidays into Italy....Kanderstag through to Domodosola......
 
In later years the service only seemed to run from Kandersteg as far as Brigg....we then used to drive over the Simplon Pass into Italy....a brilliant experience....terrific natural scenery!
