Back To Back

Coupla oldies from the Carizo Gorge RR in S/W California, East of San Diego. Currently hauling sand/rock to help reopen the line.

I don't know the make or history. Anyone ?
Excellent shot of a pair of F units doing what they were intended for, work. :)

Interesting indeed. The lettering / paint scheme (and the reporting marks) all say Washington Central (now Columbia Basin) to me. I will have to ask my friend who used to work for WCRC about these....

These built in 1952 and 1953 for the Bessemer & Lake Erie and were sold to the Texas Southern and then to the Washington Central in 1993. They were used on the dinner train until 1996 when 84 and 82 were purchased. The dinner train kept them in Renton stored on the depot house track until they were sold to the present owner in 2001
