BNSF 709-4685-7561-4479-4137-4053
Partially patched former ATSF unit leads a sextet of BNSF GEs, all Dash 9-44CWs except for 7561, whos an ES44DC (next generation Dash 9-44CW). He and 4479 spot the H3, the rest wear the H2, except for the old Santa Fe leading of course.
All six were sitting at the far north end of the yard, no power there (except for an ATSF GP35r switching) the previous two days. By the time I came within shooting range, after walking around the yard, the two leading GEs have coupled up to a TOFC train of 65 53 trailers: TIP, UPS, XTRA and blanks. Departed ~3:25pm.
Now theres something we dont get in Canada! The closest thing is CNs RoadRailer train and CPs Expressway. The RoadRailer is not TOFC though; as for the Expressway it has too many empties, often with SD40-2s for power given the light load. Both run in Southern Ontario through, any TOFC car is a lucky catch on the Prairie Intermodals.
